Continuing the series on Larry Scott's bodybuilding secrets is a video on developing that rare maginificent lower lat. Here I describe the methods used by Larry and the reasoning behind these movements....a comon factor was the FULL RANGE OF MOTION, this really is the key to developing that full length of the lat, and hitting the lower section. I had to use photos of Franco in this video.....I mean Damn you Franco!! No wonder Franco Columbu was called The Bat, he had one of the best lower lat developments during the golden era...the guy had no waist for Gods sake, just lats and legs!! Enjoy

I read an article about him and Lou Degni. Scott said to start dangling, then pull yourself up as high as you can without bending your arms. Ive been doing it and it really helps target the lats

It's a good spot on deficiencies! Remember how when we all were little kids & everyone could do pull ups but hardly anybody could do chin ups? A lot of people are pull up deficient in adulthood due to the fad development emphasis of the exercise that harder was better & more proper. A healthy rotation or incorporation is always best, but I'm going to include some pull ups tonight for lower thickness & added bicep tension.

Lower lats is more of a genetic feature, you can't grow them if you don't have them, it's the same for lets say calves if you have high injection you can't do much about it.

I'm sure these are all great, I just want to add one thing. Underhand barbell row at 45° with a pause at the top. This hits lower lats as well as some other parts of the back. Playing with the angle can alter the effect it has as well.

These are just variations on regular exercises to target your lats more rather than upper back. You can't "switch on" your lower lats more than your upper lats. Thats not how muscles work
