Here I share my DEXA scan,
I've used many modalities of bf testing and I have come to the conclusion that dexa is a complete different animal from all other methods.it's an outlier to be sure.
inbody,skulpt,calipers , bioimpedance all have me between 10-12.5%, however dexa had me at 17%.
I've learned that dexa measures fat in your brain which accounts for inflated numbers as well.

ps..general rule of thumb is when you get your body fat pct tested using any method NOT including dexa,add 5 pct points to the total and that will give you approximately what dexa would give as your bf %.
Hi, thanks for your question. I don't know the model type but maybe you can tell from the video since I show it. Both scans were done in the morning & fasting as was explained. I did hydrate beforehand since that is important for accuracy on the InBody. The Dexa tech said the InBody is incredibly touchy to get accurate results.
Thanks for this great video. I am a independent distributor and I sell a body composition line called Accuniq. We have found the same thing with the inBody when we test the Accuniq line vs. InBody vs. DEXA. The only thing I can say, customers in the market for BIA tend to be super fit, and are motivated by the low results. When the customer is looking at both units, I often have to send them for a DEXA to demonstrate that the results they are seeing on the inBody are not accurate. It's very hard to convince someone that a higher body fat percentage is the more accurate result.
Hi. Just wanting to share my results, as I'm just an amateur. I use a gym that has an InBody 230. The Inbody is heavily promoted but the numbers it spits out are not accurate. You are correct that it accurately shows trends.
two-point BIA Tanita: 19-20% (tested on multiple machines)
four-point BIA InBody: 16.5-17.5% (tested on multiple machines)
Bod-Pod: 28.7%
Dexa (1st): 26.2%
Dexa (2nd): 26.5% (on a different older machine), BMC readings were way too high so this machine I think is not as good as the other newer Dexa.
Calipers by an experienced trainer: 23.8%
Omron 4-point BIA home scale: 17-18.5%
I have researched this to try to get a handle on why the inbody is so far off:
I believe for men, it bypasses most of the visceral fat in the abdominal cavity.
my inbody results need to grossed up by 53% to match my Dexa results
I believe for women, it bypasses visceral fat AND breast tissue. 24% divided by 14.2% is a correction factor of 69%, which is higher than my correction factor.
this all makes sense.
I believe the Inbody is an accurate measure but the number it provides is artificially low by a preset ratio as it misses key stores of body fat: visceral fat in the abdomen, and breast tissue.
I just bought an Inbody 570, which Inbody did you use? Did you use it first thing in the morning before food/water?
