I like this! What brand of rope did you use?

Jubelcio

I will try this! Thanks for the advice.

Piero Cus

You saved my life! I already have that pull up bar at home and cord as well. I just need to buy the hangboard:)

Max Fischer

Hey, awesome video, just what I was looking for, thanks! Just one question: Have you had any problems with the board moving around while training so far? I`ve seen similar constructions but they used clips instead of a rope to connect the board to the doorway pull up in a tighter way and I just wonder if the small movement enabled by the ropes gets on your nerves during hangboarding or if its indeed a simpler and still equal solution

Adventures in Skateboarding At 40 Plus

Smart. That is a really good idea. Adapt and overcome!

Daniel Robinson

I very rarely say this but this is genius and I have been over thinking this for months. Thanks

korkypnoy

Thank you for the video. I have this setup. My hangboard tends to lean forward so it makes it harder to hang from small edges. Can you give advice in how I can fix the forward lean because of the rope?

ethan frakes

brilliant. so simple. well done

should look into stuff like this now when covid is blossoming up again

Excellent idea

shaw ruder

Ok that is really clever, good job

Will King

Have you thought about placing the board above the door frame and using clamps to keep it secure? Only asking because I'm thinking of doing this and wondering whether it would work!

Danasouris

You should offset the knots, the know doesn't retain as much of the strength of the rope as possible if it's on the edge like that.

Sunny. Parmar

What type of knot did you use ?

Genius! will do it asap

Just a brief video showing

Just a brief video showing how I'm still able to use an Iron Gym Pull Up Bar even though my room's doorway doesn't have a ledge. (Some drilling might be required. I just screwed this small piece of metal on. It's actually meant to be screwed on vertically and used for making shelves.)

What do you call that black metal thing so that I can easily find it in a hardware store? Thank you in advance.

RonRidesPH

thanks for this! I actually used wood and it works fine supports my weight 62kg really well! good thing i saw this video, gave me an idea! thanks a lot!

L.E.S Most Wanted: Raul RealTalk Tello

hey could you possibly redo this video or explain to me exactly what that black thing is on your door frame because I've been looking for Solutions took my iron gym problem and you seem to be the only one that has any solution at all

Hey, did this ever fall off? I need to do this as well. Also, was your door frame metal with concrete inside? If so, did you just power drill it?

ZarkelAmierAnais

wow this actually helped, thanks buddy!

DIY Iron Gym chin up bar bracket for I-beam

How to mount an Iron Gym

How to mount an Iron Gym chin-up bar on an I-beam using an inexpensive homemade wood bracket.

When the Iron Gym chin up bar is mounted to a door frame, it seems sturdy enough, but I was a little concerned about doing damage to the door molding. I decided it would be better to have a chin up bar mounted to an I-beam in my basement. There are I-beam pull up bars commercially available from Promountings & Firstlaw Fitness that really look great, but I decided to try to build something myself. If it did not work out, I would buy one of theirs. As it turned out, my homemade chin up bar bracket made from 2 x 4s is rock solid and cost less than $20 to put together.

Materials needed:

13.5' of 2 x 4s

4- 1/2" dia. x 10" hex bolts and nuts

16 washers (2 on each end of the bolt)

I also had to make spacers out of a 5/8" thick board to fill in gaps and make the bracket fit perfectly. I used a 5/8" dia. drill bit for the holes (it allowed just enough tolerance for the bolts to fit - even if the holes were slightly offset).

If you came here for the infinite pull-up loop, it starts at 0:58!

Adam Poirier

So you did a total of 1 pull up and played it over and over and over.... lmao

Renny Corona

This is amazing, great video!!

Dustin Stumbo

I love the ingenuity! This is exactly what I was looking for.

Bdubs 2

Very nice idea and video. I especially like the extra effort at the end to show how you made it and what it looks like from multiple angles. If only the other 95% of Youtube videos were done like this.

I have an I-bean like yours but with a closed off ceiling. I'm looking for a more homemade (read that as CHEAP) version of this
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KFTORKA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2DUQ2J5JF739E&psc=1 or it's slightly cheaper sibling

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00APA0Y8S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2DUQ2J5JF739E&psc=1

I have seen some clamps from which I could suspend a bar or thick dowel and that might work out OK, I'm just tired of doing them from the I-bean itself. It's really hard on the grip and forearms that way.

Random Adrenaline

Wow that’s a lot of pull ups man ???

TyRay Thompson

How many 2 by 4s needed? Thank you for your reply!
